Island Water Park, located in Calverton, NY, is a premier destination offering a variety of thrilling indoor and outdoor attractions. Our features include the largest indoor surf pool in North America, axe throwing, golf simulators, rock climbing, the world's largest aquapark, waveboarding, VIP cabanas, bumper boats, and a cable tow park. We also host Lakeview Terrace Bar & Grill, a fine dining restaurant that accommodates nearly 1,000 guests and caters to events ranging from corporate banquets to weddings, with service extending to beach front lakeside and VIP lake cabanas. About the Role:

As a Zone Supervisor, you will manage and oversee the performance of team members within your assigned zone. This includes attraction attendants, guest services reps, cleaning staff, servers, and parking attendants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise all personnel operating within your assigned zone or area.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and operational guidelines and procedures.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork among staff.
  • Ensure that the highest levels of customer service are maintained.
  • Handle and resolve any guest complaints or issues.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors and departments to ensure smooth operation of the park.
  • Assist in the training of new employees and provide ongoing coaching to existing staff.
  • Participate in regular safety inspections and drills.
  • Be prepared to step in and assist in roles within your zone when necessary.

About You:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within the amusement park industry, sports arenas, arcades, indoor theme parks, or other large-scale events.
  • Proven record of managing 10 or more employees simultaneously.
  • Strong experience working closely with an HR Business Partner on matters pertaining to employee relations and performance management.
  • Experienced in conducting training sessions, including onboarding orientation and on-the-job coaching.
  • A passion for coaching and mentoring with a patient and adaptable approach, able to work with diverse personalities and levels of sensitivity.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and certifications, such as CPR/First Aid, is a big plus.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach as job demands.
  • Must be able to work under various weather conditions.
